90's Setback

(Vest: Thrifted, Skirt: Miss Selfridge, Shoes: Converse)

I think the best part of buying vintage and thrifteds is the age it gives to outfits. The vest I wore here is thrifted and I love how it has a very strong late 80's, early 90's vibe. I stepped into the lift that day thinking of how the previous owner might have worn it with maggie mee hair and pencil skirts. It gave me a chill but in a good excited way. Pairing it with my polka dot skirt and vintage inspired earrings definitely brought it back to the 90's. Well, we can't all stay in the past so I changed things up by throwing in my favorite chucks and possibly vomit inducing head tilt.

A outfit for a quick trip back to school during the holidays. Loved how the scarf matched the shirt but the weather was so hot I regretted using the scarf soon after. Hope you guys like the little collage I did for the pictures!

Detective Conan

I lived through a very very long time thinking that spectacles would never ever work on me and that they were only capable of portraying one studious look. I had to wear glasses since a kid and I went through all these hideous metal frames that I felt so self conscious in. I contemplated plastic frames but I looked too much like a teacher in them. This year I had some problems flagging for buses because the numbers looked so much alike so I figured it was time for new glasses. Having asked a few friends, I realised that you could actually bring your own frames to get prescribed lenses! (Okay, probably everyone else knew it but me.) So I went searching for a pair of frames for a while and finally got them done. After feeling way too dorky in them for quite a while, I've finally grown comfortable in them and absolutely love the transformation I go through everytime I choose a outfit.

With the glasses and the bowl hair cut, there are way too many times that I find myself looking like Detective Conan! After a dare from a friend, I came up with a destructed Detective Conan look. The frames, blue garment and ribbon are all there but the look is definitely very different from the usual Conan. Perhaps I would try out a full Conan inspired look. I would try not to scare little kids when I finally don the look.

Sorry guys! I have been terribly busy with school these days. I did however manage to pamper myself to some thrift shopping when I sourcing for Musk the other day. Tthat trip, I got this fabulous dress that fits me perfectly. It hit the right length and was snug at all the right places. I would totally wear it on it's own but I had to wear white for Musk. Obviously Maggie said it was too gay but she loved the outfit too!

Anyway, sales was great that day! Really really happy with the response and thank you to all of you who came by the store and liked the facebook page :)

My holidays are starting real soon and AFF has already started! Unfortunately I have to give 2 blueprint shows a miss because of school. You have no idea how upset I am. I already had outfits for it :( Oh wells, at least I'll be catching the shows on friday!

Some images from Youtube Stars Concert. F3.com.sg was the sponsor for the concert and that meant that I could be there when the stars had their fitting at Topshop! I have been a fan of David Choi since my brother introduced his channel to me a little more than a year ago, so imagine my excitement when I managed to get a picture with him and the other stars. It got me thinking about how things have changed since my Jc days. Things that had seemed so impossible and far fetched have been finding it's way into my schedule. Saying that I feel grateful would be too much of an understatement.

The past week has been insane because of a module that requires me to set up a store with 4 other classmates. 2 and a half week has passed and here we are! This is the lookbook for our apothocary themed store, Musk. All the accessories seeh here (except for headband on 1st photo) can be pre-ordered on our facebook page! Here's what I wore to the Youtube Stars Press Conference. The day was absolutely splendid. Spent the day with my mum shopping at the F3 bazaar and then we had a meal at Raindrops. Picked up some samples for work and had some waffles. It was like a vacations at home. Absolute love.

(Dress: Warehouse Shoes: JCs)

Low quality images of what I wore for the final day of MFW 2012. I had forgotten to bring my camera that day and so these were snapped with Maggie's Iphone. Its such a shame that you can't see the woven details on the dress but I assure you that this isn't the last time you'll this dress. (Afterall I'm totally guilty of re-wearing pieces of items so many times that it is slightly obscene.) Lastly, the slightly deranged expression would be due to the fantastic show MCM put up that night. One word. Amazeballs.
