The mini.

Having worn shorts, jeans and maxi skirts and staying away from minis, it took me a while to get use to this outfit, since 3/4 of my legs were bare and naked. I will probably not to heading out in that dress for a while anyway. It has a gaping hole at the back which actually can be quite hot, but the length makes it slightly trashy.
The weather is a mess these days and i can hardly decide on what to wear the day before since a long knit sweater can be a bad/ good idea depending on how the weather decides to play out. I was hoping that Hong Kong will be cooler now but it seems fall isn't ready yet.
In case you're wondering, I'm heading off to hong kong this weekend! It's ironic how I've been looking forward to H&M but end up in HK on the opening instead. Oh well, hope I get something threre!

Mid-summer rain

My internal calender still tells me it's june but the rains and cooler weather kinda wakes me up, reminding me that we are nearly into the 8th month of the year. Anyway, my dad and I have very different measures for the rain. While I try and pile as much clothes on to pull off a fall inspired look, my dad would make us sit down and eat curry. Which, of course isnt a bad idea, really. Nothing better than a warm tummy on a cool day right? But im not here to teach you how to make curry, instead Ill be showing my favourite runway looks for fall!
Proenza Schouler Fall 2011
I had to stop myself from saving every single photo. I loved the pixelated prints and the colours. The cut of that last skirt was amazing and the front tuck in of the vest made all the difference. Not to mention the uniformity in the outfits without being boring. Damn, if I had money, I would get every piece of them and their genius bags too.
Alexander Wang Fall 2011 RTW
I love love love the idea of sheer tops for fall. Works splendid for our summer climates and Im very glad that assymetrical is still around. The heel loafers are so pretty and as much as I like the ones they offer at Topshop, the heel version that this collection offers is so much better.

Heh, word pun.
But seriously, jumping in those heels gave me serious aches for the next few days. I hereby declare these shoes unfit for wearing past 4 hours.
The shoulder cut out shirt you see in the picture is a surprise buy from cotton on, which was on sales. I could hardly believe anything so beautiful could be found in cotton on. These pictures hardly do it any justice, but Im pretty sure you'll see it here very soon. Previously thought of pairing them with my burgundy flare pants, but that was too dressed up for school so I toned it down with my all time favorite pair of jeans. Ive been looking for a similar pair but there hadnt been much luck.Any suggestions?
Lastly, I must say, as much as I love school, I really really need my holidays bad! Well, wish me luck for my final project of the double module!

Currently stuck with a 1000 word assignment, a family member who just ask me if I was getting married (oh lord, if i actually knew a guy. Studying in a girls dominant class and having no cca really means a smaller social circle) and a neighbour who has just gotten a new drum set. So to prevent me from throwing my thickest set of notes dated back to my JC times next door, Ive resolved to listening to good music and sharing them with you guys. Enjoy!Labels: Music.

I couldnt help it. The way the models were able to execute the shots without a hint of snigger was admirable. Trust me, jump shots = laughing. Well, usually.
Not to mention that details of the clothings were not in anyway hidden by the movements and were instead shown in a different light. Genius.

Whats a fashion student who doesnt know fashion history? For our latest module, we had to dress up for different era, which was real fun. Lugging the clothes around was a real pain, but the results were pretty amazing. How do you like my glam vs housewife look ?

So sorry for the absence, I was trying to get used to the double module schedule, squeezing brain juices for motif ideas as well squeezing dyes from tie dyes. But anyway Im back!
This post is a little late but better late than never right! Haha, anyway, the la mode outre exhibition at pigeonhole was really cool, being able to chill in a cozy enviroment while appreciating the little details of the photos that we often quickly scroll past online. The revelation of how they are mostly everyday people with everyday jobs and etc really inspires me to dress my best all the time and how dressing isnt all that about money. (Although on a contary, fashion usually is.)
Checked out the place with Shandy and I was real glad she was there. We kinda regretted not asking our classmates but we werent sure how the place would turn out anyway. Honestly, it was pretty different from what we had imagined it to be. The start was pretty awkward, not knowing people and etc but it turned out to be okay, eventually chatting with James about his excellent work and then even speaking to Venetia from FashionOnYourFeet. Who, to my surprise, remembers me from the Topshop event which was a long way back. She turned out to be very nice and candid and a pleasure to speak to!
Pretty glad I went for that event and really looking forward to more of such things. :)

What I wore to the Lamodeoutre exhibition on Thursday. I was afraid I would be too underdressed but it was fine, being in a cozy little cafe with pretty walls and tiles for coasters.
More about the exhibition coming up tmr!

I must admit, dressing up for school can be quite a chore, especially if classes is at 9.00 and you have to be at the busstop by 7.30. Not to mention that i havent been exercising and as a result look pretty fat. Gosh, i reeally need to get back into the routine.
This outfit is kinda like a I wanna wear this shirt but I couldnt find anything to match so I shall just grab a shorts kinda thing. So it's pretty slack. Gah. I wish I didnt feel this fat.
So anyway, we've been doing tie dye in class recently as well as watching marc jacob doumentary and stuff and I swear I love MJ now, if i hadnt already in the past. he is genius. So yeah, anyway, that thing on my leg is a piece of tie dye which I didnt want to hide in my bag. Hah.
Cant wait to see how the rest of the tie dye turns out tmr!
